A 65-bed state of the art Nursing Home with day-rooms, activity rooms treatment room, hairdresser and library is the hub of the village. The village has its own church and a community & social centre.
The Nursing Home at Portumna Retirement Village caters for the individual needs of each resident -an essential aspect of the caring process. We endeavour to match the ideal staff member to each resident, to cater for preferences of male or female, quiet or lively, casual or formal.
Activities of daily living are carried out at the resident’s pace, with the emphases on maximising potential and personal control, enabling choice and respect for dignity. By taking the time to get to know each of our residents, we nurture a friendly and happy atmosphere that residents, relatives and staff alike warm to right away.

Care & Services
Residents may come and go, on appropriate risk assessment basis, and visitors are welcome at all times.
We consider social relationships with like minded people to be of the utmost importance and we arrange a wide range of social and recreational activities, both on the premises and outside.
We foster a friendly atmosphere and maximum empowerment of every person under our care.
The home caters for all levels of dependency along with convalescent and respite guests.
A specialist High Dependency Unit catering for guests suffering from dementia and other  such conditions.
Extensive recreational facilities  are provided  including
library, hairdressing, activity rooms, and extensive walks in the landscaped grounds.
Daily recreational activities  including
knitting, art class, gardening,  PE., bingo, sing songs, Sunday family lunch, celebration of occasions, etc are part of daily life at the Village.
High quality food is an important aspect of the service.
Multiple sitting areas ranging from private and quiet to lively and active.
A Prayer room is available.
