Portumna Retirement Village acknowledges the publication on 3rd July of HIQA’s Annual overview report on the regulation of designated centres for older people – 2014. The report illustrates the nursing home sector – public, private and voluntary – is subject to robust, independent regulation and inspection, with 558 inspections undertaken by the Authority in 2014 – the majority of them being unannounced.
