Its General Election 2016 and the residents of Portumna Retirement Village exercised their democratic right before many in the country. There is a special voters roll at Portumna Retirement Village and all residents registered were able to vote should they choose to do so on Tuesday 23rd February when a special voters booth was in place for the afternoon (constituency of East Galway). Residents were delighted with the opportunity to vote. Many commented that we are lucky to live in country where they can vote and therefore that priviledge should be excercised by everyone.
