World Hand Hygiene Day

World Hand Hygiene Day was on Saturday 05th May. Residents, staff and visitors were invited to wash their hands. The process involved applying Glitterbug Potion onto hands and rubbing in thoroughly. Hands will glow when viewed with a ultra-violet torch. All involved were asked to then wash hands carefully with soap and water. Hands were examined with the ultra-violet torch. Glowing areas displayed on hands indicate areas where hands were not clean i.e. cracks and crevices and nails where germs like to hide. The residents and visitors were delighted to be involved and understand the importance of hand-washing.  It was an educational session and was enjoyed by all involved.
